What is Mindfulness?
According to https://missionbe.org/faq/ it can be described as the practice of paying attention in the present moment, and doing it intentionally and with non-judgment. Mindfulness meditation practices refer to the deliberate acts of regulating attention through the observation of thoughts, emotions and body states. Typical mindfulness activities include:
- Mindful non-judgmental awareness of breath, body, feelings, emotions and/or thoughts (in sitting meditation practice or throughout the day)
- Mindful walking meditation
- Mindful eating
- Mindful body scan in a sitting or lying down position
- Listening with non-judgment

What can mindfulness do for students?
- Reduced Stress: Improved ability to manage stress
- Increased Focus: Improved ability to pay attention, focus and concentrate
- Improved Emotion Regulation: Reduced impulsiveness, improved child behavior (rowdiness, suspensions, expulsions)
- Increased Emotional Intelligence: Improved conflict resolution skills
- Increased Empathy and Respect: Increased empathy and understanding of others
- Increased Resilience: Increased capacity to overcome challenges
- Improved Physical Well-being: Increased engagement in physical activity
- Improved Creativity & Collaboration: Improved expression of creative arts.
Students will find it much easier to focus and actively engage in the classroom. The class will benefit as a whole from a collective calm. These skills can also be applied to maturely navigate challenging peer or family interactions. Students will be less likely to bully others, and those students who are bullied will be more resilient. Students are also less likely to engage in high-risk behaviors as they will be calmer and less reactive. Some immediate benefits we expect to see are:
What can mindfulness do for teachers?
- Reduced stress and burnout (and reduced absenteeism from stress and burnout related conditions)
- More easily managed classrooms
- Improved learning conditions
- Positive dyadic teacher-student relationships
Teachers will be able to spend more time teaching and less time managing the classroom and also be better equipped to handle the stresses of work. Teachers teaching students that are practicing mindfulness will also find students to be better mentally equipped to learn.
Is mindfulness religious?
No. Mindfulness is a practice – the practice of paying attention in the present moment and doing it with non-judgment. Over the last 30 years this practice has been thoroughly researched and successfully implemented in hospitals, businesses, education and the military.
When you drive you don’t know what will happen next so you make use of all senses that are at your at your disposal, be mindful of how you travel.
Even though I have a driving licence I prefer to travel to most places by public transport or walk that way I can look at my surroundings and see what is happening.
amen to that. said to show that you agree strongly with something that someone has just said: “Thank goodness we didn’t go.” “Amen to that!”

The fact that we are still here must count for something

For we are here in the now so the future has not happened and Gaia’s future is not preordained – yes we experience echo’s of future hopes and fears. Though we might fall too deep into the digital electrical Pandora box or make knowing choices of ignorance or bloody mindedness or tempt fate and death too. We can kill prophets along with murdering brothers, sisters, sons and daughters too. Don’t wish your own negative doings to God there are positive echos of a potential future as well as negative echos with a multiversal possibility of paths.
For a holy daughter Gaia who is now coming into bloom there is a covenant between man and God where we all have a choice of freedom of will, to do what we do. As we are not machines and such a time as us being enslaved into machines might also not come to pass!
So be careful how, where and why you tread your footprints on Gaia for no doubt you wish treading on someone else Dreams.
Good luck and God speed

The pope (Latin: papa from Greek: πάππας pappas,[2] “father”),[3] also known as the supreme pontiff (Pontifex Maximus), or the Roman pontiff (Romanum Pontificem), is the bishop of Rome, leader of the worldwide Catholic Church, and head of state representing the Holy See.[4] Since 1929, the pope has official residence in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City, the Holy See’s city-state enclaved within Rome, Italy.[5] The current pope is Francis, who was elected on 13 March 2013, succeeding Benedict XVI.[6]
While his office is called the papacy, the jurisdiction of the episcopal see is called the Holy See.[7] It is the Holy See that is the sovereign entity by international law headquartered in the distinctively independent Vatican City State, established by the Lateran Treaty in 1929 between Italy and the Holy See to ensure its temporal, diplomatic, and spiritual independence. The primacy of the bishop of Rome is largely derived from his role as the apostolic successor to Saint Peter, to whom primacy was conferred by Jesus, giving him the Keys of Heaven and the powers of “binding and loosing”, naming him as the “rock” upon which the church would be built.
According to Catholic tradition, the apostolic see[8] of Rome was founded by Saint Peter and Saint Paul in the 1st century. The papacy is one of the most enduring institutions in the world and has had a prominent part in world history.[9] In ancient times the popes helped spread Christianity, and intervened to find resolutions in various doctrinal disputes.[10] In the Middle Ages, they played a role of secular importance in Western Europe, often acting as arbitrators between Christian monarchs.[11][12][13] Currently, in addition to the expansion of the Christian faith and doctrine, the popes are involved in ecumenism and interfaith dialogue, charitable work, and the defense of human rights.[14][15]
In some periods of history, the papacy, which originally had no temporal powers, accrued wide secular powers rivaling those of temporal rulers. However, in recent centuries the temporal authority of the papacy has declined and the office is now almost exclusively focused on religious matters.[10] By contrast, papal claims of spiritual authority have been increasingly firmly expressed over time, culminating in 1870 with the proclamation of the dogma of papal infallibility for rare occasions when the pope speaks ex cathedra—literally “from the chair (of Saint Peter)“—to issue a formal definition of faith or morals.[10] Still, the pope is considered one of the world’s most powerful people because of his extensive diplomatic, cultural, and spiritual influence on 1.3 billion Catholics and beyond,[16][17][18] and because he heads the world’s largest non-government provider of education and health care,[19] with a vast network of charities.

The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that advocates unilateral nuclear disarmament by the United Kingdom, international nuclear disarmament and tighter international arms regulation through agreements such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It opposes military action that may result in the use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons and the building of nuclear power stations in the UK.
CND began in November 1957 when a committee was formed, including Canon John Collins as chairman, Bertrand Russell as president and Peggy Duff as organising secretary. The committee organised CND’s first public meeting at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, on 17 February 1958. Since then, CND has periodically been at the forefront of the peace movement in the UK. It claims to be Europe‘s largest single-issue peace campaign. Between 1958 and 1965 it organised the Aldermaston March, which was held over the Easter weekend from the Atomic Weapons Establishment near Aldermaston to Trafalgar Square, London.

Helping hand
That took me many hours to work out. I got a new printer scanner this week and have been trying to install my scanner as it was having difficulty connecting. Well after installing new applications and from banging my head against a screen I have finally sorted it.
