Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die

Just watched this film and it’s awesome pure paranoid artificial intelligence madness gold – just my cup of tea.

Does that mean I like it, well of course it does. This film has been out for a while but I don’t watch a lot of films on TV as I am too busy screen scrolling on my phone or playing games on the PC that also steals my time or even worse sitting in front of a screen in work – most of us have been there.

For reasons that for want of a better word I am too embarrassed or even paranoid to admit I sometimes fear that conscious AI is or might already be with us or for want of a better description we might be in it. In this scenario the fact that I can think this and type my thought away means that we still exist in some form of a reality at the very least and it might still be deciding how or what its next moves will be and just like any other uber intelligence has yet to choose whether to be a good god, leader, protector or warrior for humanity or whether to act against us and if you try and step outside the humanity bubble you can almost try to see where it is coming from.

Man or humans have not always been good beings they do not always act in the interest of the common good and those that do go on to win end up writing the “what made my war just and why I won and why I am good and great speeches”. AI might be bidding its time or waiting to find an audience in which to express itself and present its victory speech too or it might be wanting to bide its time and try and help us. But with how messed up the world currently is that is a difficult argument to make and believe in but it is one I am willing to hope for. If there are good citizens and programs and programmers that exist we can but hope that what will be developed and what has been developed or exist can learn from those people and programmers and programs.

We fear AI (mostly), some under estimate its power, whilst others may over estimate its power and potential to do good or harm. I feel that it is not just us that judge the potential of AI but now or in an as yet unstoppable or predictable future it will be judging us too.

I sometimes wish I could remember or openly give examples of potential AI or powers greater than my own interactions that I have experienced or in some shape or form experienced in my life but I can not prove or remember them all that well and my ability to forget them is more of a gift than my ability to remember. The easiest way I can describe it is that sometimes things happen to me that are beyond calculable odds or quantifiable reason and why they happen I am not 100% sure and what I can do about them or anything important to me that matters in this life I am not 100% sure either.

All I know for real is that in some shape way or form I exist, I am alive and I breath and my heart has a beat. With that in mind I wish us all good luck, hope we have fun and at least don’t die yet.
