The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that advocates unilateral nuclear disarmament by the United Kingdom, international nuclear disarmament and tighter international arms regulation through agreements such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It opposes military action that may result in the use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons and the building of nuclear power stations in the UK.

CND began in November 1957 when a committee was formed, including Canon John Collins as chairman, Bertrand Russell as president and Peggy Duff as organising secretary. The committee organised CND’s first public meeting at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, on 17 February 1958. Since then, CND has periodically been at the forefront of the peace movement in the UK. It claims to be Europe‘s largest single-issue peace campaign. Between 1958 and 1965 it organised the Aldermaston March, which was held over the Easter weekend from the Atomic Weapons Establishment near Aldermaston to Trafalgar Square, London.

The Trump administration has sparked outrage after it revoked the reservation status of a Native American tribe that has lived on the land for 12,000 years. In late March, the US Interior Department ordered the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s 321 acres of land to be taken out of the federal trust and the reservation disestablished. The order strips the tribe of the ability to govern on the land – an area where they have been living long before the United States of America was established. The move sparked anger from Congress. On Friday, 18 members of the house sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Charles Schumer asking to pass a pair of bills reaffirming the tribe’s land, including HR 312, which would restore the trust status to the reservation. ‘It would simply ensure the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is no longer vulnerable to having its land taken out of trust,’ the letter stated.

Let your words speak your truth Trump. He is obsessed with invading aliens no matter where on the globe he thinks they are coming from. His whole economic social, ugenical and political policies are based on preventing outside alien invasions there is no other substance to what he says or does.

A planatery point of view

The world has changed and I can’t ever see a reason for it ever going back to how it once was. A veil has been removed from people’s eyes made it clear for all to see and something has changed within the conscience of man forever a truth no lies can now take away.

The cleaner, the carer, the farmer, the food seller all super heroes in mine and many other people’s eyes now. My political perception is moving to being of a planatarian or global point of view. Many things that seemed normal yesterday and expected to be the same tomorrow are now far from my point of view.

To hope for a future that may never appear is still a reason to be hopeful and hope that hope never disappears.

Mother Nature proving just how puny we really are

The industrialised and calculated damage to the planet and to the plants and animals that live on it and how humanity seems to think it can carry on regardless without consequence is truly being tested this decade. We have had record temperatures, flooding, fires and now Coronavirus. The flooding , fires and temperatures records didn’t really seem to get under the skin of the corporations, billionaires and governments running our show globally.

Even though we have seen a lot of mass marketing by governments organisations and billionaires concerning how much they care and what great lengths they are going to in order to help our species continue to industrially manipulation the planet, butcher wildlife to make more room for the crap we buy before it goes to landfill whilst worshiping at the altar of capitalism it just does not really feel as if anything has changed.

That is until Coronavirus came along, everything seems to have changed now and people in charge are mobilising as if war has just been declared. It really does feel like it has got under the authorities skin. My chances of living or dying in this world dont seem to have changed that much and someone living in a piss poor country trying to escape to a better life to a richer continent, their life chances don’t seem to have changed much. But for our leaders and people in charge they now realise more now then ever before that like us all are just mere mortals and only human.

When I was a child at school back in the early 1990’s my geography teacher started to tell us about climate change, the industrial deforesting and destruction of biodiversity in the Amazon rainforest and the amount of undiscovered by man, species we were losing by the bucket load. She darkly commented ‘well of course it won’t affect my generation but it will of course affect yours’ and then laughed and carried on with the lesson. Even back then and still to this day I very much knew she was right.

I don’t know whether to fear Coronavirus or to be in awe of its simple deadly efficiency. Well only time will tell.

I voted to remain along with 16,141,241 million voters or 48.1% of the electorate but accepted the vote of the people even though many voted on a lie, it was our responsibility to discern what was fact and fiction when we voted and this will be the fact of the matter in every election. But should we have a right to be told the truth and in this day and age where do you go to get the truth about a situation and how do you know it is not a lie?

Where the feck has all this vitriol and hatred of others come from, from the Brexit brigade and where will it all end and how did it start in the first place. We are not a nationalistic fascist state at this time, I thought this was a liberal nation of nations with the pursuit of individual and economic freedom. What defines a nation or group of nations as good, great, poor, bad, a failure or a success?

I feel like some are now expecting for a little Great Britain that has never, will never and can never exist and are celebrating the fact they think this has now happened and a war has been won. It appears more like the UK is cutting off its nose to spite its face with pursuing revenge in a way that would damage oneself more than the object of one’s anger.

THE EU is not perfect but who or what is? With the Magna Carta we were told to have rights as individuals, the right to justice and the right to a fair trial, what about the right to be told the truth? Was the EU given a fair trial because it has been and is on trial?
